Structural Only. 50 ksi Only.
Falcon Metals & Supply Company roll-forms 12″ (1200S) structural studs and 1200T structural track from full prime mill steel, slit and rolled at our plant in Bessemer, AL. Every piece is ink-jet marked with manufacturer, size and lot number and backed by full chemical and mechanical mill certifications.
We have the equipment to run drywall studs and choose not to. Our plant concentrates only on structural stud and track, and every gauge, including 20 and 18 gauge, is HSLA 50 ksi. There is no 33 ksi material on our floor, so a lower-strength stud can never be shipped where 50 ksi was specified.

Structural Studs That Sit Flat in the Track
Falcon track is formed with the bottom of the web very slightly wider, without changing the designated dimensions. The stud's corners clear the inside bend radius of the track, so the stud end sits flat on the track web instead of riding up on the radius.
That means full bearing, no gap at the bottom of the stud, and plumb, consistent wall heights.
Thickness & Gauge
1200S studs and 1200T track are rolled 16 to 10 gauge (54 to 118 mil). Thickness is ordered and certified as a minimum. HSLA 50 ksi minimum yield in every gauge.

Common Questions
What does 1200S162-54 mean?
It is the industry designation for a structural stud: 1200 = 12.000″ web, S = stud with return lips, 162 = 1.625″ flange, 54 = 54 mil minimum base steel thickness (16 gauge). It is the format used in AISI S240 and on structural drawings.
Is a 16 gauge 1200S stud really 50 ksi?
Yes. Every Falcon stud and track, 20 gauge through 10 gauge, is HSLA 50 ksi. We do not stock 33 ksi material, so a lower-strength stud can never be shipped where 50 ksi was specified.
Do you provide mill certs?
Yes. Full chemical and mechanical mill test reports are available for every lot, and every piece is ink-jet marked with manufacturer, size and lot number for traceability.
Will 1200S studs sit flat in your 1200T track?
Yes. We form our track web very slightly wider at the bottom, within the designated dimensions, so the stud clears the track's bend radius and bears directly on the track web with no gap.
Can you set where the punchouts start?
Yes. Studs are available unpunched or with industry-standard punchouts, and we can set where the punch spacing starts so the holes line up with your wall layout.
Do you roll other web widths?
Yes. We roll structural studs and track in 12 web widths from 1-5/8″ to 15-1/2″, and brake-press custom members up to 24″ web, 5.00″ flange and 1.00″ return, up to 21 feet long. See all structural studs.
Do you sell coil for my own roll former?
Yes. See our structural stud & track coil and coil for LGS roll formers.
